When exiting GTA 4 my computer crashed to green and grey vertical lines and on restarting it the log in page has horizontal lines and I can not get to the desktop. Safe mode works and system restore doesn't fix it does anyone know what might be wrong?

Sorry, I meant the lines on the screen where it ****** up were grey, this is what I am getting now

Sorry for hijacking your thread but i didn't want to make a new topic.

I have a Sapphire HD 7850 and I've started to get things like these in a lot of games. I get them even running at stock settings.

Are these things I could RMA the card for?

You don't know yet till you underclock the memory and try to find out if its that that's playing up,either that or it needs a bump of voltage in ccc which is normal for some cards

If it doesn't artifact when you underclock the memory its up to you to decide on rma

If it's looking like that its broken and needs RMA'ing.

Same with Arron17, but in your case its the GPU that's died.

@wazza300

I tried bumping up the power and I underclocked the memory by 200mhz and it's still artifacting.

It also seems to take an age to render shadows properly, as in it's a blob and then when i go past it, it's actually the shadow it's supposed to be (I dunno if that's just the game itself though)

I've also had it decide to turn the screen off just as I've logged into windows a few times.

@HeX

Yeh I though it might have died, it's being doing it almost since I got it but it's started to get progressively worse. Cheers for your opinion.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I've just got a new card and it's doing exactly the same thing as my old card. It's still flickering in games and I still get bad coil whine at really high fps's.

I tried running driver san fransisco on my 3570k's on board graphics last night and it worked fine, no flickering and I even got decent FPS. But now I've put another card in it's flickering away again. Anyone got any ideas?
