Do I have an SLI problem..? or just FAIL!

So it was the card ....

So it was the card that was borked. And after a weekend of fiddling I have some definite "do" and "donts" to remember for the future and a paltry Firestrike bench of 3431. It's new card time.

I am looking at this Asus Radeon R9 thinking that it's going to sit well and play nicely with the other components, it being an AMD rig and all, I would also like to be able to access the overclocking features in AMD Overdrive for the card.

The other thing that's caught my eye is this watercooled card which would probably run quieter and keep the rig fully watercooled.

Any sage advice here? Am I going down the right path with "full AMD"?

Is GTX 480 SLI still supported by current drivers? Perhaps you need to downgrade your drivers?

nVidia don't usually drop supporrt for previous generation hardware for atleast a decade (generalising a bit).

Only reccomendation would be to try and test the card if possible before getting it too fixed into a cooling loop, etc. I dunno if the blackscreen thing is still an issue with the latest batches of cards but I know a couple of people who have got a 290 all fitted in then had to drain and redo their loop, etc. due to the card having the blackscreen issue and having to be RMA'd.
