Do i have to use itunes with ipod nano?

I am thinking of buying a ipod nano 6th gen from these forums but want to know if i can use it without itunes. Ideally i'd just like the computer to see it as a removable disc that i can drag and drop music onto. Is this possible or do i have to load all my music into itunes and then use that to put the music on the ipod?

by the looks of it you won't need iTunes.
