Do I need a HDTV if I get a PS3?

Hi all,

As the title really, just I have a quite old tele so I dont want to get a ps3 and it not be compatable or not get the best from it. Its got the red, yellow and white connectors (which I use for my PS2) on the side but thats about it.

Can you help guys?

the cable ya get with the ps3 --2 connect 2 ya tv is the same as the ps2 cable -- with the red, yellow and white connectors --

Picture quailty on it sucks balls but on it -- really need a hdtv 2 get the max quailty -- but if u say u can connect a ps2 -- the ps3 will work dude :D
 
You dont *need* a HDTV to play it, but it does vastly improve the picture quality. Your TV looks like it has composite so it will play no problem.
 
you will still enjoy much better graphics than the PS2 using your old TV, but you wont be making the most of the console or anywhere near it in SD.

Definitely. Whilst I was waiting for my HDMI cable to be delivered I played through the supplied cable and it still looked much better than the PS2, obviously when my HDMI cable arrived it was even better. :p :cool:
