Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me with my network situation at work.

We have a Cisco 2100 cable modem, which connects to a Draytech Vigor 2820N wireless router, which provides wifi for the shop and also a few wired connections. It also connects to a Netgear FS108 which provides some additional wired connections.

We have a lot of devices in shop they use the wifi, laptops, phones, tablets etc. But we seem to get to a point every 2 weeks or so, where people can connect to the wireless, but they get no internet. It also does this with new wired connections.
The only way I know how to solve the problem is to do a restart on the Draytek router.

None of us know anything about routers, the reason we have the Draytek is because of a job we did for another company and they said we need we need it, so they could connect to the laptops we were setting up for them.

Can anyone help me with my current hardware or suggest what I need to buy?

2820N is no cheap device.

Check if there's a firmware update for it.

-Bare in mind, with some routers when you upgrade the firmware, it can blank the settings. Check beforehand.

When this issue happens, connect to the router and see if it can ping outside connections. (ie, get it to ping 8.8.8.8 (Google))

-edit, 4 years and first post.. impressive!

With Draytek's there are normally 2 firmware files with different file extensions:
.RST - this will reset all settings
.ALL - this will keep the settings as they are.

Also ignore Draytek's uk webpage for firmware and go straight to ftp.draytek.com - all files there work fine
