Do I need an NVMe or a Sata SSD, realistically?

Essentially i need more storage for gaming. I was pointed to a Linus video a while back that seemed to show the Sata SSD still performed faster in general use than the NVMEs?

Is an NVMe really worth the extra cost over getting a larger Sata SSD for a similar price?

I've been pointed to the Rocket as an NVMe solution, but should I be looking for a SATA drive instead for my use case?

What you said I think is true. I now have a NVME linux/W10 sata SSD Dual boot pc & I've not noticed any difference in boot times between the 2. prices between SATA & Nvme drive have gotten quite close. In fact due to an offer the 1TB WD blue NVME ssd is almost £10 cheaper than its SATA equivalent on OCUK this week. Most people now go for NVME simply to have 2 less cables in their PC.

I hadnt thought about the less cable angle. Good point

I hadn't looked at the WD stuff and they seem fairly priced. Would it be worth getting the WD Black for that extra £20 or is there barely any real noticeable difference?

Thanks
