Do i need new RAM?

It sounds like your memory settings are unstable. You could probably have fixed this without reinstalling, but never mind!

Vect0r's suggestion is a good one. Make sure that you have all the settings set to auto, particularly the memory-related ones. Then try installing again.

I reset all too stock and did try a restore before but everything came up as not working. I was going to do a reinstall to clean it up anyway so its not that big of a deal. I cant reinstall as i keep getting the error:

E:/Sources\install.wim 0x800701e7

Im thinking that my memory is fried?

Sorry to be nosy but i've got the same CPU, Mother board and speed of ram so i was wondering what your voltage and FSB were as you've got me a bit worried about my computer now.

From what a remember from the reviews of the P5Q its very picky about the sort of ram it takes.

I had it at 445 x 9.0 the voltage was 1.325 NB was 1.36 and the ram volts were at 2.1. I'm praying that my ram is knackered as everyting else is expensive and I'm broke

Whew! Thank god that after i put in my new ram my system worked again. I was worried for a little while but eventually it worked. So now that i have decent ram that can run at 1066mhz im sure i will be able to get to 4ghz much easier?

Hmmmm, well there seems to be more issues. I keep getting BSOD's with the erros:

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

and

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Searching around these seem to be related to bad memory, could running memory slower than its supposed to be the issue?
