Hey all,

I'm upgrading my PC soon (mobo and cpu) and also upgrading to vista.

I have two hard drives at the moment, one with wondows and all the applications on and the second used just for storing items (videos/music/pictures).

When i install my new PC and vista is there any need to touch my second hard drive as it has not got an OS on or can i just unplug it, isntall my new system, plug it back in and be able to access my files.

Any help appreciated :)

If you are just using the second one for storing data then you should be able to simply plug it in to any install of Windows (anything NT based or later) and it will work because it is all based on NTFS. :)

The only thing to make sure about is that when you have both drives in, make sure your BIOS is set to boot from the newer drive with Vista on - I had hell when my board decided it didn't want to play SATA, and started messing around trying to boot from the old 80GB IDE drive with my old docs and Windows 2000 on it ;)
