Do i need to upgrade to B450 system

I game on a laptop at the moment

My spec is

i7-7700HQ @2.8ghz (Kaby Lake)
16gb DDR4-2400
Geforce GTX 1060 8gb
Samsung SSD 960 EVO NVMe M.2 (500gb)

I can see the gfx is a bit weak now......but would I notice much difference in gaming (mostly Arma3 and CS:Go) from upgrading to a B450 / 3600x / 5700XT main rig?

I connect the laptop to an external monitor at the moment and its ok - but will probs be upgrading to a larger 32" screen or similar.

Is your CPU actually holding you back in anything? Run Task Manager on the laptop's screen while you game on the external monitor and check the CPU usage. If CPU usage is 100% then you will benefit from a CPU upgrade.

If upgrading for Arma 3 and CS GO. you wont notice diddly squat from upgrading. Arma 3 problems are usually server bound or due to poor scripts, CS:GO quite old and will run on anything

The 1060 is not weak yet you should be able to get a couple more years out of it unless you want to play at 4k
