Hi,

I used your assistance a couple of years back to build my first PC, and although i have mainly used it to work from home over the covid period, i haven't really done much gaming on it. With that new space game coming out in a couple of months, i have contemplated buying a Xbox to play it, i have a PS5 as well so dont really want to have consoles everywhere and a PC.

I am just wondering if someone could take a look at my specs and let me know if there is anywhere i can spend a bit of money upgrading and if so would i need to do anything different like cooling or the like? Basically what i want is to just beef up my PC to be able to run games that are going to come out over the next couple of years rather than splurging on another console i dont really want or need.

Here is what i currently have:

MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX (Socket AM4) DDR4 ATX Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Six Core 4.2GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail

WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB 2.5 SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive (WDS100T2B0A)

Fractal Design Meshify C Blackout Midi Tower Case - Black Light Tempered Glass

Patriot Viper Steel 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C17 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PVS416G360C7K)

Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro 8GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Seasonic Core Gold GM-650 650W 80 Gold Modular Power Supply

AOC AGON AG273QX 27" QHD HDR400 FreeSync 2 165Hz Gaming Monitor 27" Display

Corsair K95 keyboard

Steel Series Rival 710 Mouse

Budget is around £750 - £1000 but the less i can get away with spending the better if possible, or if i dont need to do anything with it then that is fine as well.

If i can provide anything else please let me know.

A few games i am interested in that i'd like to be able to play on PC are Starfield, Cities Skylines 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Stalker 2.

You pc meet the minimum requirements for all those games , you have a 1440p monitor which mite push your pc harder but personally I would wait try the games and see where you lacking before throwing money at your pc.

Starfield, Cities Skylines 2,

Wait until reviews and performance benchmarks are out.

This.

You will likely benefit from an upgrade to 32 GB RAM and a 5800X3D CPU but we really are at the end of the AM4 platform so if you don't need to upgrade now you can save money for when you do need to upgrade.

Great - that's all i need to know and i suppose with game pass i can try running those games and see how they perform without committing to anything beforehand. Thanks for your help, i appreciate it.
