Hi folks,
Planning to upgrade my AMD 965 and Gigabyte UD3P to a 2500K and UD4P.
Do i really need to do a fresh install of Windows, as i really cant be bothered with all that. Just wondering if most just pop in you HD's to your new build and everything works fine?
Changing my small Antec 300 to a HAF X while im at it, its so cramped at the moment!

Fresh install needed.

Drivers will be completely different between AMD and Intel.

You'd be lucky if your old installation even booted into Windows on your new system

If you get real lucky........no, but tbh it's most likely you will have to.

Besides, it takes less time than you think, and I always find it nicer to have a fresh install with a fresh system.

Rebuild is recommended. There's possible ways to bodge it but system stability is usually affected long term so you end up rebuilding anyway.

There are tools for backing up/transferring your profile like WET, but you'll still need to reinstall your apps.
