Just read a piece in the local paper on them. They look great fun and are practically pocket money toys. I want one! Or do I?

Anyone had any experience with em?

There getting quite old now so have some of the problems associated with older cars.

My girlfriend wants one when we need two cars and they look great fun.

The 1 litre turbo is apparently fun and nippy to drive to.

How much you looking at paying? About £5K looks right for a really nice one.

Only just investigating them at the moment really. They are going between 2.5k and 5. Some of the mint condition, low mileage ones go for 10k tho :/

Luckily there is an enthusiast about 5 mins from my house who also sells them so am trying to get in touch with him to arrange a test drive and a chat.

@chrislusty- that link didnt work mate

they are amazing little cars, designed by a Jap design student as a submission to a compatition which later turned into a full (yet pretty limted) produciton run

Nippy is proberbly pushing it, being a 4 speed auto with about 76bhp, but its not going to be terminaly slow :) And the styling is totally unique on the uk roads :)

There are 3 at a local garage near me, one in blue, one grey and one is pink! Had no idea they did a pink version. They are all 2 tone with white on top, large sunroofs and a/c.

Sat in one before and they're pretty funky. Seem like they could be a future classic just down to the quirky 50's style and the (fairly) modern engineering. Total girls car though (imo) and not a lot of performance.

If that doesn't make you say No, then you deserve a sly backhand to the ballsack.

It's based on the Micra IIRC so fundamentally a good car but you're paying a lot of money for an old Micra. They command a very high price on the used market.

While I wouldn't buy/drive/stand too close to one, they are pretty cool in their own unique way :).

Surely you're looking at an MX-5 every time over one of these? Sure, they do have a bit more character than the Mazda, but basically being a Micra I can't imagine the drive is all that good.

just seen one advertised for 2k in leicester that needs some work on the interior and engine. Might be worth a punt as they seem to fetch 6k in the right condition.

For what is essentially a Micra with a rather silly body nailed to it, they seem to command ludicrous prices. No accounting for taste I guess.

That's the sort of thing that a male Figaro owner would indulge in on a regular basis to fulfil his weird sexual desires.

For the money they command there are much better cars available. If you want a car purely for posing in then I suppose it would be OK but if you want a good car, you can do much better.
It's hardly the thing for a man to pose in either, it's a womans car, like the Ford Street Ka.
