Do I want an S4? (Going from iPhone)

People who taunt me with the "S4 is just too big" are due for a 'kin good slap. I'll agree that a 42" plasma is too big for a jean pocket. Get into the real world people FFS. :-P

I love my S4 never used an iphone so can't say. but one of the lads here at work was a die hard iphone fan and he likes his s4 so

If the insurance claim fails; Yes, do go for the Samsung S4.. Im coming from iPhone (3GS then iphone 4S), and so far (3 months?) I LOVE it.. Personally I like to be able to try different ROMs, not wait 12 months for the new IOS, only to gain a few more icons on the screen (OK, and a few more things).. Samsung is very good releasing new releases of their ROM, some times several releases per week. You will soon get used to the size - personally I find my wifes iPhone 4S too small now, before I thought the S4 looked too big..

Obviously the S4 wont be supported by Samsung after 3 years, something you will get with the iPhone, but then again, not many people keep their phones for this long.

Can you reach the whole of the screen when only using one hand? I have a One and have issues reaching about a quarter of the screen without rearranging the phone in my hand...*

*Yes I have tiny lady hands and only rear XL gloves because I like to feel manly... ;)

Regarding getting access to the whole screen with thumb on S4. Absolutely not. I have reasonably large hands and I hold my phone in right hand and type/swipe away happily with left hand (like Einstein would have) . Last droid phone I could manipulate easy with one hand was the original Desire. If one handed use is absolutely essential to you or anyone. Don't go above 4 inch screen screen.

Additional : I use my phones a great deal, OCD so and surf almost entirely on my S4 so screen size is critical to me. However so is weight and feel. The Galaxy Note II is too big imho as a phone, but this is purely my preference. The iPhone, all of them I laugh at their itty bitty screens.

How about the HTC One? I moved to that from the iPhone, and after finally using an S4, definitely feel i've made a better choice.

HTC's sync manager will pull all of your stuff from iTunes, and keeps it up to date over time, such as music (playlists, and specific songs/albums from the library), photo's for on and off your computer. Along with that, you can copy all your contacts straight across using an iPhone backup.

Along with the easy to transfer bit (which is second only to iTunes itself(IMO)), it feels a much more premium phone. My average use gets from 100% at 8am, to 80% at around 11pm.

- But I would understand you wanting to stick with the iPhone, but there is a new one coming soon! :)

edit: I've bothered to actually read the thread. Good news!

When your other hand is err... occupied :D

What ever you're holding or rubbing or whatever can be stopped if you need to touch your screen, surely, well in my experience it can with no impedance to my life whatsoever but a small screen can never get bigger no matter how artfully you stroke it, that genie's never coming.
