You have 10 days to take your car away and make repairs after a failed MOT. The retest will only check the failed areas and you'll get charged a reduced fee but does the retest need to be done at the same centre as the the initial MOT?

MOT retest can only be done by the same test centre. If you take it elsewhere it'll automatically be a new full test.

A retest only checks the failure/advisory items and items relating to it. For example if it failed on brake pads, then the pads would be checked along with caliper bolts, wheel bolts etc as well as a brake test.

exactly they wont check the whole car again if taken back to the original testing station, only what if failed on has been corrected.
