Ok so here is what I'm trying to do.
I have a Dell 3007WFP native res is 2560 x 1600
Some games I have problems with getting widescreen (ie not supported correctly BF2142, DOW DC i.e.well they do support it kinda but not properly so you lose the top and bottom, or just weirdness i.e. Chronicles of Riddick) so as a workaround I thought run the games at 4:3 aspect at closest supported res 2048 x 1536 and select the do not scale option so you end up with black borders but the images is nice and crisp. I cannot get this to work with my 3007WFP has anyone tried to do this as certain games are unplayable at 2560 x 1600 (Chronicles of Riddick looks bizzare and SLI just does not work with this game and my cards, 2048 x 1536 on a single GPU is no problem) so if I select 2048 x 1536 the Nvidia card scales the image to fit and it looks blurry and nasty.
So to test I attached my older 2007FP native 1600 x 1200 then set the resolution to 1280 x 1024 and checked Do Not Scale. Click apply it works so why not with the 3007WFP

So what the hell is going on when using the 3007WFP anything to do with the card being in dual link mode on the DVI connector? The only other difference I can think of is that the 2007 has a Display scaler in the panel whereas the 3007 does not.
So people suggested creating a custom resolution but I can't seem to get that to work.
Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me nuts.
Thanks
