do people lap there CPU cooler ?

I no people lap there actual CPU to get a very shiny flat finish but that voids warranty etc. Do people lap there CPU cooler which is in contact with the chip as I would have a go at that ?

I lapped all my waterblocks. The finish on them was'nt very good so i went the whole hog and lapped them to a mirror finish. Does'nt really matter about the mirror finish, it just needs to be perfectly flat.

some people do, but on most heatsinks its not needed.

I've lapped my vapo evaporator, but not got round to lapping my CPU yet.

I've just lapped both of mine...in sig...just nice to know their both flat...and to get that mirror finnish is the easiest and most pleasing when done.

lapped both my q6600 and my ultra 120 extreme wich took a while as they were both really bad.
