do sandbox games not cut it this generation?

Dead Rising did have one major flaw.. The joypad configuration when you're aiming with a gun, you can't move and you have to use the left stick - very awkward. Other than that though it's almost flawless as a game.

Yeah, I'm finding that now. Loving the way zombies react to head shots though :D Very rewarding

your all forgetting about the upcoming 'Alan Wake'

But we've not played it yet, we can only comment on what we've played irregardless of Alan Wake going to be the best game of all time.

I'm refusing to read anything more about Alan Wake.

I really don't want to be sucked in by any hype and be able to judge what will likely be an incredible game on it's own merits.
 
We'll get to a point (if we havent already) where sandbox games are only as good as your imagination.

A good group of mates on a multiplayer sandbox game and you're set for quite some time with things to do.

(see over 460 hours playing SA-MP on PC...just a static gameworld, but so many human minds into the mix and the variables are infinite).

(as for Dead Rising, completed it 4 times - so it must be good for a single player to hold my attention for that long, sledge hammer for the win :D)
