I have this which i brought 3 years ago with my old system

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-058-CL&tool=3

wondered if it was worth keeping ?

I paid £80 for it and link now say £109 so i take it for a sound card thats quite expensive so pretty good, also the reviews are good for it ?

I never really got on with it but i must say the sound is awsome when cranked up, had to fiddle with loads of settings to get it to work correctly :o

Tech in sound cards rarely advances in the non professional market.

Unless the big players like Dolby add new feature sets sound cards have no real need to update as long as they have achieved a good level of sound quality.

Things change, like the increase in headphone use and integrated headphone amps but generally a sound card will lost a damn long time.

The last big shakeup was with Vista/Windows 7 and quite frankly Creative are FAR behind here in their implementation/drivers.
