hi all and welcome to my first post lol im new so would be glad for some input from u guys been using a pc for ages now lol.

Currently waiting for an order by OC to be processed.


COMP SPECS R

3XS ISOTOPE IX (WATERCOOLED CPU) shaped like an X

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX :D

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 (how much can u push it)

EVGA nForce 680 GeIL 2GB PC6400C4

Maxtor MaxLine 250 GB RAID 0 with 120 Gb drive for back up

X-Fi Xtreme Music + Inspire T6060 5.1 Speakers - ;) dont need 7.1

Samsung SH-W183

Asus PW201 20.1

Corsair HX 620W

most my choice was made from reading reviews on sites and reading forums so if u had this rig, how much do u think you could clock it cpu and graphics?
Also would u change any the compents for speed or stabability issues

I'd ditch the Maxtor posthaste for a Seagate 7200.10 250 GiB drive.

EDIT: I also suppose that you should move the "768MB" part up to the line about the graphics card. I've been trying to wrap my mind around what 768MB might mean with regards to an E6600.

Only 5.1 speakers? :eek: Skimped on hard drives too. Anything but Maxtors.

Also you left the price in your signature for the RAM? :) Was in a rush? Quick PC post pimpage? :p

But yes - beats my rig any day.
 
amatex firstly thanks for the advice second no e penis at all just thought i would buy something that might last me a bit longer this time around and was wondering what that sort of spec would bring me when overclocked after finishing (well the main part) of oblivion using a rad 9700 pro with 512 sys ram and a poxy 2200+ amd time to upgrade me game me thinks and for any one who thinks i got more money than sence this is some serious overtime ive had to put in to order this rig working in the falkland islands :p
 
hey concorde rules thanks for the input im sorry to tell u mate but i think u got my case mixed up with the first mode wich is round and rather ugly l :p the one i ordered is the shape of an x and can take MATX & ATX if u google the name of my case as its written u will be able to link to a page wich will show the u the diffo and i must say they are very nice cases was going to go for a shuttle but changed me mind as soon as i set eyes on it
 
I wouldn't bother with the case as its not my sort of thing and I'm not sure on what the built in water cooling is like? (presume its water).

Change the HDD to Segate 7200.10 250gb, I would get a Seasonic Psu 600w or 650W and a 22" monitor rather than 20.1 but it depends on your primary use.

Also 7.1 sound card and speakers rather than 5.1.
 
Awesome rig. Lots of money, but it is very much an awesome machine. Good looking, clearly won't be as good as a custom build, but it's all there, ready made and looking great.

You're all jealous! :)

I agree with sentiments about the maxtor, i also think in a system of that calibre anything less than a raptor for a boot drive is a bad choice.

kbc just for u i will start paying more attention to me grammar as to the AMD I had it was poxy but better than any Intel performance and price wise. It was the dogs balls when I first brought it 3 years ago, but as u well know time flies when your on computer time and as C2D is a killer when paired with a 8800 gtx at the moment. so I just had to buy what i thought was best for me hard earned cash would have gone 4x4 but that seems an awful way off and geared to server market.

Yes, if you have already bought it there isn't much point making recommendations of what to change, so we need to know.
 
Well u guys ive got 4 days roughly to change anything on the order due to the 610i motherboard not being in stock yet, it's suppose to be back in stock by the 8 th of dec.

I also asked when I started this thread what sort of overclocked speeds would I roughly be able to hit i.e Graphics & Cpu speeds with the set up listed.
Just wanted to know if I had made a good choice with the parts I had ordered

I've not heard of a 610i do you mean 680i?

Do you need 250gb of space?
Performance wise you would be better off with a 74gb or 150gb raptor, if you can afford it and don't need the extra space.
