Do Virgin's new V6 boxes require Internet connectivity?

VM tell these porkys because they want to avoid their "engineers" touching anything outside of their ecosystem and having to do a more complicated install.

To be fair, that's not an unreasonable position for any business to take.

I don't condone lying, but at the same time is it fair for customers to expect installers to fix things or overcome additional hurdles just so they can complete the job that they came to do?

I’ve got same problem as Vertigo. Hub and TiVo box at opposite ends of house, so poor WiFi near TiVo. The killer problem is that the two locations are on different electrical ring mains so Powerline connectors do not work. I think the only way to connect would be by running Ethernet cable from hub to TiVo. And if I’m going to do that, it makes sense to place an old router next to TiVo and use that as a wireless access point. Does that make sense? Would VM do that, or would I have to do it? Advice welcome.
