Do we live in a computer simulation?

That's fair enough and I get what you're saying, however it's the point I quoted though that I'm specifically referring to. Personally I don't believe this computer simulated idea but because I don't and I'm certain I never will, I'm an idiot? That's what gets me, it's rife on these forums, the slightest difference of opinion and someone is an idiot. I could put that one straight into the minor annoyances thread.

Choosing not to believe it is your choice, I don't have a problem with personal beliefs however founded or unfounded. I do believe that this is one area however where we don't have enough data to make an inflexible decision one way or another, there is a complete lack of hard evidence that it can't possibly be true and enough merit in the conceptual side of it to make the possibility worth studying.

My own views on it mostly come from a programming/game design background with a fair bit of experience in level/world design so I can't really expound all my experiences, etc. in a concise or cohesive enough manner to make much sense to someone without that experience but I've seen enough that I don't consider the idea completely far fetched - tho I find most of the commonly held (pro) views on the subject somewhat ludicrous.

& now some physicists at the University of Washington has created a potential test to see if we are indeed living in a computer simulation.

Are they really doing this?!

They get paid too much for doing too little if that's the case!

What a waste of time >_>'
