Do We Really Need New Threads For Every RROD?

I've tried pointing this out about all the Fifa threads when we have a massive fifa discussion thread

It's the same for others, we have a GoW2 thread and no doubt another GoW thread will pop up, it's not hard to search

Sadly people just bite my head off, it just makes the forum easier to read is all

Its a shame about stickys never being read. Its like the overclockers part of the forum. Loads of great info in the stickys but ppl still make help me OC threads.

I'm guessing its so it gets noticed and people reply
 
Do we need a new thread to say that we don't need new threads! :(

Course we do if mine gets RROD, ill have my very own thread.
 
It's funny how we have "Official" game threads and when another thread is made about the same game people moan and say post in the official thread, I don't see any difference in having an "Official" thread for RROD's.

Because game chat usually all happens at the same time, after a new release or whatever.

RRODs are hardly that frequent on here now.

I still don't see why it's bothering you all that much. I ignore threads I don't want to read...

Although normally someone who really cares posts a link to the thread that is being duplicated. In 6 posts you have not :D

tbh I think the thread you created above is great, although I guess it is more for information than moaning.

I know this sounds like a lot of work, but I always liked the idea of a "my console broke moaning thread" and mods just merge new threads like this into there. (like your official RROD thread idea, but for all consoles)

And also maximum of 3 threads per game. 1 for multiplayer arranging, 1 for general discussion and 1 for spoilers.

I know this would be too much work for Dons etc, just an idea.

In practice some people would be annoyed (those that think only they have the right to create new threads on certain topics or on certain games etc), but it would make things easier to read.

It's been thought about a few times but generally there isn't a major need to force a structure on the forums like that imo and mp/spoiler/official threads organise themselves ok. We also can't implement an idea like that with the current don/UB setup but that may change one day if the current system stops working.
 
What exactly are you hoping for SniperGecko? To be able to sweep the RROD problem under the carpet?

Keep it under wraps and hope that the less posts there are the less people will realise about the problem..

I say bull, if your 360 goes pop, you have EVERY right to rant on about it... Cos its frustrating as hell.
