Singapore's students do brilliantly in math and science tests.

American kids test much worse but do better in the real world…f-z

and if yes....why?

I think he means that Singapore students work really hard, get good grades etc etc. However American students/kids whatever are all rich and there country is looked after well. (i know it isn't in all places but the majority it is "nice")

I dont know if the OP is questioning whether theoretical or practical knowledge is better? (Assuming tests = answering questions)

If americans (using the example given) have little theoretical knowledge, they will not be able to explain the reasons for what happens when it comes to practical purposes.

The key is having both theoretical and practical knowledge, and being able to apply one to the other.

I knew a kid from Singapore....he got a First, then moved back to Singapore, now works for Accenture down there and is earning 50k/year....he only finished a year earlier than I did as well!

Bloody clever kid he is!!
