Do you always run your GPU/'s overclocked?

I am a bit lazy and only run overclocking software when benching/doing performance graphs or curious to see what fps I am getting. I find the info that you get with MSI Afterburner or Precision X quite distracting and find I am not paying that much attention to the game.

So, do you always run overclocked or just run overclocked now and then or never bother?

I will ask a mod for a poll :)

I used to run my single 670 at +120, +760. 10mhz lower on core and memory than benching clocks. Since ive added the second, both are just ran at stock now, as i havent taken the time to see what i can eek out of them together.

If it's required, then yes, if it's not, then no.

No point running my GPUs overclocked if I'm playing an old or undemanding game.

Good point, even on some of the older games i play, a modern high end card is overkill for them. So i tend to cap the frame rate in theese to help lower gpu usage and therefore temps.

Got my 680 at +120 Core, +300 Memory, nothing too extreme as I haven't invested too much time into overclocking the gfx card.

I run it at stock when I'm not gaming.

stock when gaming, just turn down ingame settings. Only overclock when benchmarking. When using two cards (my replacement comes back tomorrow! :D) i only enable CF for benching

I tend to try out overclocking a few days after getting a new card (stock first, then clocked), just to see how it handles the odd benchmark, otherwise I'll only attempt to do it again if I need the extra performance / if I think it's worth it.

Apart from one card (9800se), I don't seem to have been fortunate in the silicon lottery. Maybe I need to have a go at tinkering with voltage, which is not something I've tried before.

I do now,ive never been a gpu overclocker tbh,it never really appealed to me,but with the 7k series cards its much easier I find,

run my 7970 at 1150/1700mhz 24/7 now

Running at stock atm, im melting in this hot weather so want my PC kickout at as little heat as possible. Normally i run a mild overclock 4.4 on cpu and 1200 on gpu. Its too hot atm.

My HD 7950 is usually at stock at 880/1250, with undervolted GPU and VRAM (913mv from 1031mv stock, and 1.5v from 1.6v stock respectively) for most games, and general tasks including hardware accelerated video (madVR). Generally I play even most 2012 titles at 60hz on my TV at those clocks, but very occasionally when I game on my 120hz monitor or play a relatively demanding game (e.g. Tomb Raider with TressFX) I go up to 1125/1500 with 1.1v on core and VRAM still undervolted at 1.5v. Takes my HD 7950 up to HD 7970 ghz levels when needed so it's definitely worth it.

I usually just run at stock these days and occasionally hit the saved overclocked profile if playing a game that particularly needs it.
