Do you believe in ghosts?

Simple question really (one that hasn't been asked for a while in GD).

For me the answer to this is a resounding no - I think that the vast majority of what people believe to be ghosts or paranormal activity can be explained quite comfortably by science, or perhaps more commonly, a person's mind playing tricks on them.

Quite a few people I know do believe this stuff is all very real though, but their 'experiences' always make me laugh - at which point some of them even seem offended...

Need more proof for ghosts, but timeslips yes, I have worked on many old houses over the years, I still remember two incidents, was working with a plasterer, who was also a lay preacher, on a house, one morning we came out of one room, turn to go to the kitchen, & there was a old lady in a rocking chair, perfectly clear, must have lasted several seconds before fading away.
We were both speechless, both saw it.

And nearly 30 years ago I was renovating a old cottage in North Wales, in the middle of nowhere, the young couple had no kids yet.

But, every so often you could hear children playing, I heard it, as did the rotty, it didn't bother the couple either, they found it rather interesting.
Rendered a wall, the following morning there was a tiny child's hand print in the render, never explain it.

Not sure. I've heard conversations between perfectly rational people about their experience of what can only be something not of this physical realm, taking things like hallucination/sleep deprivation out of the equation, but remain on the fence.

Hahaha! Brilliant. :D
The mind is a powerful thing.

Nope. I hate TV shows like Most Haunted - they've been filming for years, but have never yet captured a ghost on film. I understand shows like this are largely for entertainment purposes, but people who believe in ghosts actually watch this garbage for years and still believe that ghosts exist and hope to see one on TV

Slightly different topic, but I have friends who regularly visit spiritualist mediums who claim to ‘see’ and ‘speak’ to the ghosts of loved ones, and they hang on every word they say. I’ve sat through a couple of readings with them and its disgusting the way they prey on vulnerable people in mourning.

I've lost all belief in everything over the years. Faith, Ghosts, Santa, The tooth fairy. (Not the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson film, since it is a crime against humanity to not acknowledge its brilliance.)

I think a place is able to record past events absorbed into the fabric of the building.

A bit like a tape, it's only coated with ferric oxide?

and when conditions are right you can release them, to be played back.

I believe. I lived in a flat which was haunted. On top of the toilet cylinder thing I had a massive pebble which I borrowed from the beach (you know those massive ones). My girlfriend was having a shower and a massive noise came from the bathroom. She screamed. I thought she must have slipped. To her and my horror this giant pebble had been knocked to the floor. Now I could understand if it were close to the edge my my girlfriend has minor OCD so it has to be in the middle of the cylinder thing.

Also a few other things like the hamster water bottle on the side of the cage was taken off and put upside down during the night. (that could be explained by sleep walking).
I had this sticking duck toy which when we were out had me moved from the side of the unit to the other side of the room.

I guess people would say that its probably a load of rubbish which you are entitled to your opinion but this stuff was strange. I had a bad feeling when we 1st moved in to that place. As soon as our tenancy was up we left.
