and in our times a real life santa wouldnt work

The sheer number of houses he would need to visit on that night make it impossible.

If he is from the future, or is an alien with some sort of vehicle that can transport him around all the streets of the entire planet, and hand deliver through chimneys - then he could potentially exist.

The volume of food he consumed would probably make him explode before he left the first major city, never mind him being a bit chubby.
