Pretty much everyone I know likes clubbing/raving but I always feel out of place because I don't dance. I'd like to, but I have no idea how, I've got no rhythm and I'm too self-conscious to really let myself go.
It probably helps to realise that pretty much no-one but your mates (and maybe not even them) care how you dance - unless you're absolutely excruciatingly bad then it's unlikely that you'll even be noticed. Once you figure that out then there's no real reason to be self-conscious.
I used to avoid dancing at all costs but then figured out I was denying myself a lot of fun to no purpose so now I'm happy enough to dance when I feel like it, I've still got no rhythm and I no doubt look like a plank while doing so but what they hell, it's about entertaining me rather than anyone else.
