Do you ever bet against your own team?

Never, ever done this but considering betting against Chelsea in their next CL match with Utd. Really not too confident that they'll get a win and go through, so might put a fair whack on Utd to do it.

I'd feel terrible if it happened to go the other way though. :p

If I saw profit in it I would have no issue whatsoever betting against Arsenal.

Football's my weekend/week night hobby. If I was gambling on it then I'd go for where the money is - otherwise what's the point?

I've considered it once or twice, almost as a way of making it into a zero sum game - if my team wins then fantastic, I may be £X down but I've got the satisfaction of winning as recompense, if my team loses then I've not got the satisfaction but I've got some extra cash to partially make up for it.

Haven't done it yet though as I don't tend to bet.

No it's not.

Edit - clearly I'm alone in thinking it's ok to bet on your own team then. :p

If it makes people feel better I remember losing £40 when Arsenal went to the San Siro over 5 years ago...

Berbatov won me £25 the weekend :) but to answer your question, no.

It's always extremely dangerous betting against Man Utd.

I wish I could say the same about my own team. People are overly optimistic about them especially at this time of the year. The bookies would have made a fortune on our draws against W Brom and Blackburn - and if they do in play betting then that draw against Newcastle as well.

I have done, mainly as a supersition in matches vs Derby, it has usually worked (in recent years), this is of course coincidental and I don't for a second believe it changes the match outcome but if I win the bet at least I can be slightly less miserable about the result.

Don't realy bet, one or two down the years.

If i did though, betting against forest would be the easy call.

I can allways tell you why forest have no chance of getting anything from a game, freak results aside.

Chelsea has a great record against Man Utd in all competitions, have faith ;)

I'd like to see Chelsea win, can't stand Utd and all their plastic followers.
