Do you ever find yourself wasting time on tech you'll never use?

I've spent a lot of hours researching cars. Not even necessarily good/expensive cars, just "this is what I would buy if I needed to buy a car today". Usually starting about 2 years before we actually buy a new car.

well i am hoping that cosmic ordering is a thing ;) (after all i used to research houses in Cornwall and im here ) but i get obsessed with details ,with cars ,would i pay the extra 50k or so for a turbo s .that colours amazing but what about swirl marks (goes and researches paint protection) and depreciation ,would i be better with a gt3 or gt3rs in 991 form as a modern classic that will hold value better ? and theres no way i am parking this at tesco ,need a sturdy runaround as well (looks at land rovers )

It's nothing new, money burning a hole in your pocket. You just have the nerd edition of the disease.

I have it too. But unlike common mortals who spend money on useless trash, 'I' only buy best-in-class quality junk, and spends hours of research just to make sure I've got the best. Gotta have a 200m dive watch, a pen that has been certified by our best astronauts to be vaccum-resistent, or the sunglasses that let you observe nuclear explosions in complete safety.

Well, it's kinda true. I'm too poor and stingy and class-conscious to buy that stuff. I'm more of a 'value-for-money' guy, stuff that last, you know, that I can pretend to become potential familly heirlooms. I also like watching useless (to me) shows, like watch repairs, gun channels, or car repair and hot-rodding. It's a guy disease. Nothing to worry about.
