Do you find text speak insulting/rude?

A complete disgrace, broken Britain, I blame Labour etc

I don't find it rude or insulting, whether it would be a text/email or facebook comment...evolution of language as people have already stated (and the amusing 'devolution')

It does take me longer to decipher the message, especially when my mother first started doing it... she would make up her own text speak, but whatever!

Thank you for insulting my generation, or maybe we text/write like that because it's quicker?
Sure in this situation a line to remember someone they should probably be written formally, but deducing all the above is stupid. I write properly when needed. When it's not I don't.

You think little kids who write "wuu2 bbz" actually literally go up to people and say Double-u U U two to people?

Your generation? It was MY generation that started the whole text speak BS (I have no idea how old you are, so it could well be both our generations seeing as I'm 23).

And I don't text speak, my phone has T9 so I can easily type full sentences with full words.

And I have a friend that says "lol" irl, so there probably are some people who say "wuu2 bbz", I mean there are people who say "I heart you"

I will admit, saying 'lol' in real life really grinds my gears!

I find it bad enough on the internet, let alone someone actually saying El oh el or lol.

I think it is awful, and very disrespectful.

The English language is being changed a lot, with weird new words, like "Innit" that don't seem to serve a purpose. People managed without the words before?

I think its disgusting that these people couldnt even be bothered, for once, to write a properly formed sentance to express what they feel after this tragic event.

Lazy and pathetic :(

Totally agree

Or possibly their cousin always used txt speak and at some point said he was more comfortable/preferred it and it's just a fond tribute to him.

Absolutely detest that "txt speek" language.
I have a few mates I knew from school who type like that on Facebook.
Retarded grown ups who still hang around the local car cruise, driving **** cars with their hoodies up.

****ing plebs.
Needless to say I don't hang around with those cretins any more and anyone who texts me that junk never gets a reply.

As you can see it boils my **** somewhat :D

I find it annoying in any situation, if someone left that memorial message for me I would make a point of coming back and haunting them. Pathetic really.

I can't think of anyone on my contacts list who uses txt spk, other than my parents. They're down with the kids it seems.
