Do you flash?

Sorry? Ban? For what?

Anyway....On topic... Lots of people suffer from glare issues.

In my case its mild cataracts, and its not that dangerous.

guessing where the road is for a few seconds each time a HID vehicle of someone with fogs on come past at night? thats dangerous.

Maybe... but ive been driving for 10 years and never stacked it in the dark...

Not sure what else you can do... my eyesight is pretty much perfect other than glare at night, and theres no way that will ever get picked up by a copper surely?

Hmmm. I guess only really bad eyesight forces a retest...?

Nope, in my experience this is a top way to start a road rage incident. I distinctly remember a minor dispute over lights turning into a 10 mile chase with a lunatic.

Oncoming full-beamers are undeniably the worst, if there is nobody behind them then they will get some full beam right back at them.

I often give a couple of flashes, but only if it doesn't affect other drivers.

Car makers should make it so the rear fogs come on first then on the next click the front fogs come on, it would help cut down on the "oh i look so cool with my fogs on" brigade.

:D

If it's some **** on a thin country back road coming at me with 4 lights instead of 2 and I am genuinely being blinded (which is often the case in this scenario) then, yes, they get full beams back. It's not big or clever, I totally know that. But neither is misusing fog lights.

I've had numerous close calls. The worst is a Q7/Land Rover/X5 with HIDs AND fog lights. I almost went into a ditch a few months ago from that.

Good. Well not really, but at least there is someone else out there that shares the same experience.

I agree, Q7 is the worst. There is something about the HIDs that are more blinding than any other in my book. Cant they have decent auto levelling in them so a detection of a car in front automatically lowers the lights.

Its not like front facing "radar" is that uncommon these days is it ?

I'm more bothered by drivers who don't use lights at all.

But my biggest pet hate is the dullard who not only drives at a constant 40 mph but never uses main beam so you can't see to overtake him.

I get more annoyed with idiots with their full beams on behind me, as ther'es nothing I can do about that

i had someone on the motorway doing that the other day. Yeah sure you can flip up your center mirror but not the wing mirrors :( i flashed my rear fogs, so he flashed off his full beam then put it back on again

I followed some woman all the way across Liverpool the other night without any lights on. It was a good few miles and we went through several parts that weren't that well lit! I flashed her a few times, beeped my horn, cars coming the other way were flashing her and she was completely oblivious!

She finally turned them on after nearly 10 minutes though!

I just let them get on with it and give them a wide berth sine they are probably morons, i see it as advanced warning now.
They fail to realise that no matter how many lights you turn on, there car is still rubbish.

I actually had to use both front and back (only when no one was following close) the other night since it was so incredibly thick, i'd say less than 50m for anything without a light.

that really narks me too, i give him a chance and just say "**** it" and put my main beams on so i can see, cars come with dipped rear mirrors so you dont get blinded so it;s not that bad, it's their own fault for being idiots.

I tend to flash my front fogs at people with fogs on, but it doesnt usually do anything. :(

I also find it funny when people flash me as to say turn your main beams off when they're not on, a quick return of my actual main beams stops them from doing it again. (and i do mean quick, on -> off just to let them know, i dont try and blind them off the road)

I flash my fogs if i can do it without irritating other drivers.

I flashed my rear fogs at a folowing fogger once, what did he do, put his full beam on as well. I pulled over because he was dazzling me and he gave me the finger.

I've had that before, also had similar. Was following someone with their rear fog on, I was bored of being behind them, so overtook. Flashed my rear fog once I'd pulled in, to remind them they didn't need it and could turn it off if they'd forgotten, so I got mirrors full of light. :(
