I'm curious to know how many people floss and how often?

Recently I've been flossing once a week.

My dental hygeniest (lovely girl btw) flossed me for the first time in my life a couple of weeks ago. It was excruciating so I don't think I'll bother.

I really struggle, my teeth seem to close together to get the damn things in between.

Switched to floss-action heads for my leccy toothbrush, and it surprisingly makes a difference.

I went to the dentist yesterday for a check up and got told I should floss as I don't at the moment. I might try it but I have no idea how!

Is it just like whipping the towel back and forth between your legs after you've got out the shower only on a smaller scale? :D

It's one of those things that I always mean to do, but always seem to forget. My current floss has lasted months because it's seldom used.

Nope, everyone thinks that you are supposed to scrape back and forth, but you are supposed to just pull it down the gumline, and scrape up and down. Sawing back and forth will just make you bleed.

The first week can be painful & you might get a little bleeding but your gums soon toughen up. After a while you can be quite forceful & it doesn't hurt.

My hygenist told me if I want to keep my teeth till old age then I must floss, so I'm just doing what is suggested by the professionals. She also said the reason older Americans have good teeth is because they floss.
