I dont really hate anything, I also think that EA are just a business, running like a business... I think most software houses (game ones that is) are going under due to the fact that they are not ran like a business... EA want to be a successful games company and to be one you have to be ruthless... even though the are not always right (for example DRM)
Now how can I hate the company who published such classic games as The Bards Tale series, Battlefield 1942, Dungeon Keeper, Populous, System Shock 2 to name just 5.
I dont always agree with their policies, and I dont really like their constant rehashing of sports games and just changing the year number on it, but I cant hate them as they have also allowed me to have some of the best gaming experiences that I've had over the decades.
Hates a strong word, but I will be happy when they have left the PC game industry and moved completely to consoles. It seems to me they have moved to cross platform games now anyway, which as a rule I dont enjoy.
My view is basically like DAvE18's, they have some policies and do some things that annoy me but they release so many good games and so many games that eat away the hours of my life it doesn't bother me.
Depends on which part, EA is so huge these days it's difficult to blame it's actions on the entire entity. For example, i hate EA Sports for churning out rehash after rehash, i hate EA publishing department for going doolalley with DRM but i like EA Digital Illusions for making mirrors edge (the demo is awesome!) and EA Redwood Shores for making dead space. I imagine the two small studios stated above actually have very little to do with the 'bad' things EA keep doing like tying forum accounts to game accounts or over the top DRM, they just want to make good games.
Not really any hatred towards EA, as i dont buy the game for the company, but for my own enjoyment..
Even with the DRM and forum account tying crap, i guess its to eliminate people who just dont act mature as they say, but i never log onto their forums, and i dont think i ever will
How can you hate a software company / publisher? Or a service? Sure, I certainly don't agree with many of EA's business-related decisions / choice of DRM / recent news about forum & game accounts being banned etc. But hate? No. Hate is something I hope I never experience as I have seen what it can do to someone.
