Do you hate EA or not?

Hell Yeah

EA are the spawn of the devil. Releasing half baked sequals that ruin games.

That said, without EA not a lot of games would get produced as they carry a large financial clout.

I hate EA, but only because the gaming industry lacks any other evil coprorations that would otherwise feel my wrath. None of their ridiculous implementations have affected me, however stupid they might be (except that stupid steam-esque system you had to sign up to to play BF2142. i hated that)

basicly EA create very good games which the brake by trying to make it better like Battlefield 2 with the 1.3 patch.

then they create games you can only install 3 times and nobody likes them no more

EA SORT IT OUT and i will love you like i used 2

Ea don't do anything other companies don't do.

I love how people always jump on EA saying that any sequal is crap only because EA got their hands on whatever company it was. Its mostly, IMHO, game makers who had one idea, ran out, can't think up another one and while the first game rocked the follow ups suck as they have nothing new to offer, why EA should take the blame for that I don't know. Many other companies manage to produce a great game and a bunch of crap follow up's, its not an EA only phenomena, Doom, new and original, the rest, meh. UNreal, woo, follow ups, meh. Half life, fantastic, the follow up's, meh.

Sequel's are rarely better because, by and large you play yourself out on the first one and something following a similar story will inevitably feel too samey. Rarely does a sequel differentiate itself from its predecessor significantly. The few that do tend to do quite well, the ones that don't tend to get panned.

Matrix one, woooooo, matrix two and three...... tripe. Its a pretty good example, while the first was clearly long thought out and a very good story the follow ups were fast put together cash in's with ridiculous plot, awful scripts and focused just on being bigger and louder, so many games do exactly the same.

Not hate them, no. I think a lot of their business practices are completely out of touch with reality though, and don't buy many of their games.

CD Projekt now - relase a fantastic game in The Witcher, then six months later release a completely revised and improved version free, along with a load of other free goodies (still listen to the soundtracks).

These guys I love :)

Interesting acticle on thier attitude here :

EA could do with reading it.

****ing detest the parasites ever since their so called "customer support" monkeys emailed me and told me to "**** off" because after a few months of correspondence they couldn't fix a severe problem with BF2!

I do hate the endless sequals, rehashes and drm is just a waste of time but I cannot deny that deadspace is superb and deserved my hard earned money.

Impartial i would say, if i pick up a game and it has the EA logo, it means to me it's going to be either hit or miss in terms of the game quality.

Yep, the games I've tried of them recently were rubbish. The DRM thing makes me sick...

I dont really hate anything, I also think that EA are just a business, running like a business... I think most software houses (game ones that is) are going under due to the fact that they are not ran like a business... EA want to be a successful games company and to be one you have to be ruthless... even though the are not always right (for example DRM)

Stelly

Tbh it's peoples own stupid fault ea are like this, don't buy their games and they're powerless...

They suck bad. How many franchises have they milked to death and hence destroyed? How many independent publishes have they bought over and then sapped all their creative juices from?

Edit: and I have 1000 posts :P
Remember to send an email to mods to access to the special 'ladies' (cough) sub-forum :D

Though they may have changed it to 5000 posts...

P.S. on-topic - I used to hate EA because I thought they were the root of evil and buying up other developers/publishers left, right and centre but of late they seem to be given said developers a lot more creative control over the products so that seems to be a good thing. Would the world be a better place without EA - Im unsure - definitely less sequels, but Im unsure if they would have really been replaced by significant quality in sufficient quantity to keep the PC games industry as alive...

What they have been doing with Spore is ridiculous and the latest Mirrors Edge demo is stupid (to unlock time trial you have to get a code which you only get once youve pre-ordered)

ps3ud0
