Do you hate EA or not?

Why is it someone makes a game and everyone expects it to be great its not and everyone says, bah, just a rehash. But if EA are funding whoever makes it suddenly its "oh no, these uber creative people are being crushed and bullied by EA, bad EA".

Why can't people get a grip, either the people making it couldn't keep afloat without EA, so the game would never get made, they are too weak and bow to pressure from EA, or maybe, just maybe, people have one good idea, run out and are milking it themselves.

I don't see why the answer is always to blame EA. Plenty of other companies make crap games, plenty of other companies milk franchises year after year and never come up with another original thought after their first game. Infact the majority of game makers tend to do that.

At the end of the day, EA aren't actually making the games, the developers design stuff and if they make a bad game its their fault.

As for DRM, I've never had a single issue with DRM, but I've had problems with, my internet while gaming, my gfx cards, memory dying, motherboards failing, hard drives corrupting, windows screwing itself, other software crapping out, etc, etc.

Why is it DRM is the one thing that must be perfect and can never fail, ever, its works fine for 99.9% of people, of course some people have real issues, but some people have issues with anything, is it that surprising? The actual rules/usage of DRM isn't a problem, it installs software, so what, we all install it all the time. It only lets you install X amount of times. Again so what, unless you want to install it on 30 computers at the same time you're fine. Most allow 3 or 5 installs at the same time and you get them back when you uninstall. You're buying a licence that says as much. If you buy an AV program, is it immoral that you can only use it on one computer, or pay for a licence for 3 computers and install it on 3?

Nothing wrong with DRM or EA, they do nothing differently to any other company. People just love to complain and get angry at anything the "big bad bullying" company does, normally without any reason.

i thought EA was great until they broke Battlefield 2 server for a good 3 months and my clan lost out on like £400 dedicated server! Did they pay us our money back?
NO!

No i have my SO SO Views with em

I dont like DRM when it doesnt work. but then its never caused me any problems so thats a big meh from me. I dont much like EA Sports, however, because they really do rehash everything to death BUT....that said, fifa09 is just brilliant.

As for everything else they put their name to, well......im not stupid enough to blame them for the developer's failures.

I dont hate them, but I also dont like them. They dont take gamers seriously enough and rely on constant supply of "n00bs" that the world produces to buy their unfinished games. I am also not a fan of their DRM policies, but as previously mentioned they do run their company as any large scale company should be run to be successful. Im just wondering how long they can carry on like this for...

EA are more about making money (suppose they have to) but they do this at the customers expense.

Valve / Blizzard are two companies which put their customers and game play first over making money.

Case of yes and no, frankly they produce quality games...

On the other hand certain of their ip's they allow to go stale knowing you'll flash the cash, woods, nfs ect.... substandard need for speeds in recent years compared to other A grade racers, woods doing the same ole same for the past few outings.

Territorial pricing practices and availablity, love nor money finding a copy of nhl 09 on the shelf for less then the rrpg (50 notes ps3) in only one highstreet store, when you see fifa/woods around 30 just about everywhere, makes me non happy... speaking bemused as to why people wern't stocking it... nhl doesn't sell well over here, blame ea ect, what i got told, sad realy when you consider the nhl series was a mainstay for many years over the megadrive/ps1/2... now not in ea's global business plan:(

Heh, i could go on about the non appearance of RA3 on the ps3 and their reason for it... considering the original red alert was one of the best sellers on the ps1 the year it showed out, mmm not buying it, best seller, imho one the ps1's finest games.

Reguardless though, ill keep on buying, quality even if.

How can you hate EA when they bring out so many quality titles and (as of the past few years) treat their developers so well?

EA = BF2 = 64man IO = My online gaming Heaven :cool:
Umpteen thousand hours since day one & I played last night & will be tonight an all, Thanks EA :D

i hate them. the company can burn in hell, for all they have done. They've ruined previous games series (c&c), and thier DRM is stupid. Their good:bad game ration is terrible. The only reason the company is a sucess is because they own everything. This means some people would rather eat out of the gutter than starve. They release the occassional good game though.

I hate them mostly, to be honest apart from all the command and conquer games I don't think i've actually enjoyed an EA branded game in a loooong time

I've bought a lot of EA games and been incredibly disappointed, I tend to stick to buying my games through steam now as I can't name one occasion that i've seen a game that isnt on steam and gone "ooo that looks good" (again apart from C&C because red alert 3 looks good lol)
