One of the boys in my class fiddles with anything - the lid of his water bottle, taps his pen, fiddles with bits of blu-tack, picks at rubbers... He just has to be faffing with something. So I got him one of these:

It's called a Tangle - basically you can sit and mess about with it, but the way it's jointed, whichever way you twist it, it doesn't break. It helps him to concentrate because he can listen to me while he fiddles about with it, and it doesn't annoy those around him.

It arrived during the holidays so I had it at home for a week and I swear, it's so addictive that I almost kept it for myself

These, apart from not above the lip, I tend to stroke/pull the hairs just below my bottom lip.

One of my friends at school was like this...he would generally chisel at the edges of desks with a ruler though, and draw peckers on everything...caecilius est in horto sedet with a penis on his head.
