do you have a strange mind?

I managed to read it easily.

I wonder if the younger generation who are used to text slang and IRC type chat find it much easier to read than the older generation.

its an inate ability to do with language I believe, its not a skill thats learned. Probably related to the fact you also often read (see) what you expect to be there and not whats there.. I frequently type something wrong but when I read it back I read when I thought I typed and not whats there... hence the need to get someone else to proof read your work if its something important....

I also worked in a company that published books and the main proof reader for the company while doing some checks would read the text back to front (i think it was looking for spelling mistakes)

Makes you wonder why so many people moan at incorrect spelling, if most of us can read that mess anyway.

I thought everyone knew this? Our brains normally recognise the shape of a word once we reach a certain level of literacy. Then its just about small clusters of letters more than anything else.

How many of you can read & speak words backwards at the same speed as normal ?

being doing this for years & baffled lots of people who think it's Welsh or something similar.:p, started doing this with my Sister when about 12 & we could say what we liked in front of people & get away with insults :D

One thing that always worries me, in the US they test if you are drunk with various tests, such as saying the alphabet backwards... I would "epic fail" at that test :(
