All 3 of my pc run legit copys on windows xp home, vista home premium and my server running an old version of mandrake linux. Also have a knackered old laptop running windows 2000 pro on a select licence, so that could be a little dodgy, but it never gets used as the old dell laptops are crap

i will happily say no, my vista 64 install isnt legal. im going to try something before i drop my money on it. as it goes, vista 64 has been good to me, so it'll be a fresh legal install before the end of the month.

.ooh, my xp is legal.

my main two machines are

windows mce and vista ultimate (oem)

i run other os's as learning/test environment, and don't have licences for them (assuming i'm allowed to say that..)

i donate to freeware software projects (not os's as i only use ms os's)

lol, I have a COA sticker on my spare lappy, but still use the xpCorp img I have lying around from years back whenever I nlite..

so my lappy's not running a legit version, but it does have a paid for liscense ;)

I only use it for a media server during parties, so will probably stick kubuntu on it soon..

Only licensed software on all of my machines - and that doesn't stop at the OS.

My wife and I have workstations, I also have a server machine and we also have a laptop.
Every piece of software on all these machines is legitimate.

I just live by the rules that if something is useful (it must be if I'm using it) then it has to be paid for.
If I cannot afford something I want then I find an alternative.
I'd love Photoshop, I can't justify its purchase, so I use Photoshop Elements.
Putting Vista Ultimate on the wifes machine would be handy - however costs say thatg Home Premium was a far better option.

Workstation is running Vista Ultimate OEM, bought for £117.
Laptop is running XP Pro, "it came with the frame"...
Server is running Server 2003... license obtained from work's MSDN - internal use only but we use my server as a test bed now and then.

Nope, all 3 of my currently used installs are chopped down copies of XP using a corporate key from where I used to work, quite happily paying for Vista Ultimate in a few weeks though :)

No, just the regular trick where Vistas will run for 3 months before they need key. Good enough for testing, or, if required, benchmarking.

Ah, I see why you used "trial". I'm sure I've said this to you before, so excuse me if you've heard the gospel, but it isn't a trial on any level.

I know, I know, but.. I'm just not going to buy OEM copy for every test I want to perform. So god bless Microsoft for rearm...

2 legal Vista Business Enterprise.
1 Legal XP Home
1 not-so legal x64 Vista Ultimate (original cd, but not mine...)

Yes three copies purchased so far ,,,i do get peeved by the price of upgrading Mobos , Gonna look into retail soon .

My scum bag colleague at work runs a pirated copy on his lappy , you can see the hack load in the bios upon start up , he gets updates the lot .

I am soo tempted to kick the thing off the desk .
