Do you have trouble parting with games?

i cant bring myself to sell my games even when i never play them
ive got about 30 xbox360 games and prolly 10 of them have had less than an hours use - i just cant help buying them!

the only games ive ever sold are gh3, cod4 and uncharted on the ps3 as i had the 360 versions of the first two but now wish i still had uncharted :(

i think a cupboard full of games looks good but the missus would prolly disagree

Ive got a trick I do, and now I really dont care if i miss them, as I can generally rent them for free anyways.

Buy on release day........keep until clocked or bored of game, usually a few weeks to a month......Trade in at work for about £7-8 less than I paid for it then buy next game

Been doing it almost a year now.

With my 360 I've had no problem flogging a game once it's ceased to entertain me. The main reason is that console games do seem to hold their value quite nicely, and if you don't play a particular title anymore, why not make some of your money back? I currently own two games, and I'm selling Bully within the week as it really hasn't grabbed me at all.

I did however regret selling Forza 2 back in September for £27, so I bought it back a month or so ago for £12. I do like that game an awful lot.

PC games are a different matter. Only relatively recent titles or very obscure ones tend to sell, and so as a result I have very few games from the last two or three years in my 'finished with' pile. In the loft is a huge back catalogue of older PC games, I've kept a number of these for sentimental reasons, and the rest, of which many date back to '93... well it would be a shame to dispose of them... :o

Play the game and sell it to fund another. Pointless having games sitting on the shelf which i'll never play and will devalue to end up being practically worthless.

I thought I was the only one that did this. It feels like I'm giving away a piece of my soul when I sell games! Then I go all rationalistic and say "it's only a game". After all, when I've played them once, I rarely go back and play them again. There are very few - mainly Half-Life 2 and its friends - that I play over and over.

The thing is with games is that there is always something new coming up which makes older games look like pants. Most people would only play older titles if they couldn't afford to play the newer ones.

Never used to sell or trade in games but now with my PS3 i tend to sell the games or trade them in but only the very limited singleplayer games that offer little to no replayability.

I keep all my faves/classics but that's about it.

I could never sell my MGS/Res Evil/Silent Hill collection

I generally dont have any trouble with parting with games or consoles, as soon as im really bored with a game or console i get rid of it. The only exceptions have been my Dreamcast and N64, ive sold on every other console and game ive ever owned. Only one i really miss is my old Amiga (though its not a console) which was given away while i was on holiday .

Usually keep most of mine, always enjoy looking through mint and boxed N64 collection. But then again there are a couple of games I have bought and sold numerous times :p

I'm a bit of a nutter for buying things multiple times. I've bought and sold Rainbow Six Vegas for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Same with Oblivion. I've kept the PS3 versions though at the moment.
