Hey guys,

Odd request but basically I am with Sky at the moment for TV, Broadband and phone. A friend of a friend has just got an awesome package on Virgin and I want it!!! I am out of contract with Sky and I am in a position to haggle however the deal offered by Virgin is too good to be true!

Here's the catch though, the friend of a friend I don't know, the friend is more of a guy i've met once and don't know him all that well, therefore getting this deal is proving to be quite difficult.

The deal is as follows:
152mb
Phone Talk Weekend Calls
1tb Box
Extra HD Box
Big Kahuna package
BT Sport
Netflix (6mths)
12 Month Contract
Free Install

Total.......£33

However the only way of getting this is phoning up and giving them a reference. This comprises of either his account number, postcode and house number or phone number. That way Virgin said they can compare the accounts and basically give me exactly the same deal as he is getting. But if I can't provide this the deal can't be matched.

Now, I have tried to contact this guy but I have had no success. Does anyone on this forum get a deal similar to this or better and would they be willing to help me out?

A long shot I know but worth a punt.

Cheers,

Transform.

That deal doesn't sound real to me, or too good to be true as you said. Unless he works for them and is getting an employee discount or something.

Most people on here will be paying close to this just for 152Mb by itself.

If you want though, I could do the refer a friend thing from my account and it'd give you a £50 credit on your account if you find a package you want.

+ line rental.

Sounds like like the offer they have on now - http://store.virginmedia.com/big-bundles.html?intcmpid=CAB_Portal_Offer_12MPD_ban1

But there is absolutely no way he would be getting all of that for £33, maybe they do a big staff discount but still.

Yeah plus the line rental, however the deal isn't something you can get off the net and its a 12 month contract not a 2 year one and you get netflix and the 1TB box. It sounds like he was referred by a friend who worked at Virgin but it's worth asking.

Ha cheers mate. My father in law has virgin and has already asked if I'd mention him but your second in line... honest :)

How much would your package be without the sim? £50 a month?

sim only £5 (ulimited call and texts plus 256mb downloads) more then enough for me and was paying £12 before.
but before with virgin i was paying £70 a month with without sim and
only 100mb broadband.
Its a lot cheaper now with this package and i get more.

I switched to Virgin media last march and I am not happy at all. Will definatley be going back to SKY. Their T.V. Service is rubbish and their customer service is abysmal. I would leave now but it would cost me £198 so I have to suck it up till next march.

Everyone pays less that me it seems -.-

With who?!

It's Virgin Media. It was £20/month but has crept up year-on-year around about £1 at a time so it will be about £27 soon. I get a letter every year to say what the new bill is. Speed has been 20mbit for a few years now, but Branson said I'll get an upgrade between Nov 2014 and Jan 2015. Not sure what the new speed will be.

You're getting ripped off. I'm paying £27.50 for 152Mb from Virgin. Ring them up and get them to sort it out.
