Do you keep your boxes?

i keep all the boxes to my pc stuff in a small room downstairs and replace them everytime i upgrade.

for regular items i dont bother

For a short time, maybe a month until i'm sure the product is ok. However since i build a lot of rigs i tend to only keep my own stuff and if the customer dosen't want the boxes they're dumped immediately.

The fishfinger ones yes, the rarer examples I keep in display cabinets.
I used to collect fishcake boxes but they stopped releasing special editions so the market faded.

For small computer stuff and things that I think I might sell in future and could be worth something. Having a box seems to add quite a bit onto the selling price.

Big items like TV's will be used till they're old tech and not worth much or they fail, so dont bother keeping.

For anything I might potentially sell on or save me hassle finding something that fits when moving makes me usually keep the box. All my camera gear boxes are sat on top of my cupboard and when I had a PC I kept most of the boxes until I physically ran out of space lol.

I keep the boxes for things that may need to be returned under warranty or sold at a later date. I'm really fussy when it comes to boxes and I'll always be extra careful when opening them for the first time. It's so annoying when you can't find a blade and the sellotape ends up ripping the design of the box.

Anything I think I might end up selling such as gfx cards I keep the boxes. Otherwise I flat-pack them all for approx. 1 year and when I come to move house I usually recycle them if I'm sure they won't be needed.

oh and I keep PSU boxes (corsair ones) because they make very handy computer bits storage :)

I never used to, until I started selling stuff on eBay and realised things go for more if you have them. Since then any major purchase has its reciept and the box and all it's contents put in the loft

Depends what it's for really, if I can get away with throwing away then I won't, if its for things like monitors, motherboards, CPU's etc then generally I will keep as its handy when you sell these bits, to have a box and all the original packaging to use.

But also depends if I got storage space as our place is quite small and full of stuff.

I keep everything PC related, and for larger items/items that I might resell later on.

My father-in-law did a joke at my wedding about people keeping the boxes the favours came in and I'd look after them for everyone.

Maybe if I might intend to sell it later and keeping the box would increase its value.

But no i dont keep the boxes for most things because I am not mental.

If you upgrade regularly it's always worth keeping boxes for components. Makes it easier to sell them six months or a year down the line.
