Do you know where this symbol is from?

Even if he was more into punk than me I still like it, how many other dads liked punk?

You're kidding right?
I would say any Dad below 60 could easily be into 'Punk'.
If you came to the pubs I go to or Biker Rally's you'll see loads of old Dad's into 'Punk'.

Haha yeah though my girlfriend doesn't think so she is saying I don't like punk but I listen to Leftovercrack, Operation Ivy, Only Ones, Toy Dolls and Mad Capsule Market (early) to name a few. She said I shouldn't say I like punk like my Dad liked it :/
What's her argument?

Is it because you don't look like a punk?

I get a lot of double takes when I tell people I listen to stuff like death metal, I just don't think the dressing up bit is important unless you're in a band.

I think the dressing up part is ridiculous, mainly pompous self centred people do it.

Like a warning sign I stay well clear of them. :D

Yeah I don't look like a punk but then I don't wanna be forced to by liking the music, which would be ironic. I love metal too but I just look like a normal guy.

I think this is the best thing he's done since... far better than PIL.

It's urgent, tight, clean, crisp, fast, and all sorts of other descriptions. One of my favourite songs. It absolutely suits him, both the sound and the iconoclastic lyrics.

I find the stereotyping from young people funny.
Last week I was in a department when my phone rang playing Master Of Puppets.
After the call two young lads commented on my ring tone and were suggesting I might be too old for it.
I told them that both Kill Em All by Metallica and Show No Mercy by Slayer came out in 1983 when I was 25 and they weren't even born so it is my music and not theirs.
Another time a Halfords fitter was working on my car and actually rang me to ask about the MP3 player I had left in the car and the music on it.
He said "So you're genuinely into Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom, Devildriver and all those other bands on there?".
I asked him if he preferred I listen to Bryan Adams, Dire Straits and Phil Collins.

Like I said earlier, come into the circles I move in and it isn't strange to see 50 to 65 year olds listening to music you might not stereotype them with.

It is Public Image Ltd. Recognised it at once, as will other members of the older generation. I'd be surprised if 4T5 didn't twig straight away as well.

Another "Older Generation" here - yea, knew it as soon as I saw it, and I wasn't even into punk.
