Do you lie to your other half about the price when you buy stuff?

This was propted by a conversation we just had in the office.
One of my mates was looking at buying a TomTom 510 when one of the girls in the office piped up and said to get a TomTom One as they are "only £110".
We of course deputed this, but she insisted that her husband had told her it was £110.

She called her husband on the phone and asked him. This is what we heared:

"Hiya, what TomTom have we got?"
"A One, OK. How much did it cost?"
"YOU LIED TO ME. YOU SAID IT WAS £110".

We all laughed a lot as we have all used the "It was £20 dear" trick when the missus notices the £100 wireless mouse and keyboard on our desks etc.

So. Do you do this?

It's better to lie than to listen to an hour solid of OMFG how much etc etc etc.
Less stress, less hassle, easier all round.

That is exactly why I do it too.

A little lie "It was 49.99 dear" is much better than 4 hours of her screaming about how we need a new carpet and how she wants some new hair straighteners etc etc.

Alternatively, you could spend your money wisely and then you wouldn't need to argue about these things.

I do spend my money wisely.

The problem is that our salaries differ so much. I pay twice as much tax per year as her entire gross salary in her full time job.

She thinks that my money is hers and her money is hers too.
