Do you like the end of the loaf?

Had a loaf of below for toasting - the slices at 20mm are the thickest I've ever seen - is this legal - 170 calories/slice & toaster challenge

As long as it's not the really thin rubbish slice, you can't beat a nice thick slice from the end

Decent fresh loaf crust is the best bit IMO, standard white supermarket bread it's a bit meh.

but is it the end or the beginning? how can you have 2 ends? surely it's the sides?

Crust is what you get cut off when making a sandwich as in the brown "edges" on each slice.

Enders work. There are 2 ends to a loaf just like there are 2 ends to a length of string.

yea but the whole bread is encased in the crust, just with the slices its only the edges not a whole half of the slice .

Hey, you can call it whatever you want.

Different regions all have their own colloquialisms for the same thing - fizzy juice/soft drink/pop/ginger as one example all meaning the same.

Just because they use a different word doesn't make them wrong.

Used to get that bread a lot. It is good but only really for toast, it’s too thick for sarnies imo.

Still say the crust is the best bit but it’s been eighteen months since I last bought any bread, never mind the dreadful Chorleywood sliced bread.

Baked these two on Boxing Day. It's almost a race in this house to get the crust and slather it with thick butter.
