Not bad, maybe trying a bit too hard with some of vocals.

Quite Gomez like with a little Pearl Jam thrown in.

I don't buy singles though :)
 
No, because it sounds too much like Bends-era Radiohead and it needs to sound original, and his voice sounds generic, dishonest and I doubt many people will remember it...

Well it's a song wrote by some people that arnt good enough to have a record contract yet. I'm just wondering if you think they are good enough to get one.
 
I thought the instrumentals were pretty good, not bad at all; better than a good 85% of the garbage being played on the radio these days anyway.

At the start i was like this is awesome then suddenly It turned into tenacious D….. Who are awesome by the way, but one of a kind.
 
Yeah as someone mentioned, the drums need sorting out. Sounds post-grunge and the lack of deeper sounding drums takes away that feel.

Other than that it is arranged well and with a bit of professional help could sound much better. I think they played around with the vocals too much as well.

On the flipside, it does sound very generic and there really isn't a market here in the UK for this sound. Sounds fitting for 90's American highway radio rock.
 
It's just too generic, the opening 3 minutes sounds way too AOR for my liking, then the guitarist comes in with a solo that is a bit too much like a frustrated Jonny Greenwood fan. That might sound overly critical; it's actually not a bad song, it's just far too safe.
