I'm 26 and I have Crohn's disease. I went through a fantastic period at the start of the year where instead of taking 4 pills a day, I injected myself once a fortnight. The side effects, unfortunately, meant that I had to stop taking them.

Now, I take about 6 or 7 pills every day! I'm about to go onto another similar medication as well, though it requires a day in an infusion suite every 8 weeks instead. The pills are now mostly vitamins, but also something to deal with the side effects of that drug I was taking.

I enjoyed the respite while it lasted!

Nope.
And IMO to many people are on pills as a first resort, rather than final resort.

Actually they can be considered a very useful 'first step', so that you're in a better mind-frame to deal with the problem (talking specifically about anti-depressants).

I only take hayfever tablets in the hotter months, I'm a weepy mess without them.

Amlodipine evey day.

Bloody awful stuff, I was on that to treat my secondary Hypertension along with Lisinopril which I'm still on, hopefully wont be on that for too much longer, currently recovering from a Right Hemicolectomy, basically cutting out part of my bowel to remove a rare Carconoid Tumor, fingers crossed thats it.

Luckily to not be on any medication myself, Then I am only mid twenties so ideally shouldn't own my own pharmacy just yet in life.

Yep, have to take Tegretol, Ramipril and Warfarin daily for Epilepsy, high blood pressure and artificial heart valve respectively. It's standard routine for me, been taking meds all my life so it's normal :)

What trade was your dad? I was trade group 5 Gen Tech GSE working in GEF. You probably went to school with one or both of my sons.

He was in MT I think, and I'm pretty sure he used to do bus runs to the school too. I think the schools I went to was Maas first school and then Rhein middle school :p

Same schools as my two boys. Don't suppose you can remember Marcus or/and Daniel Brown? I have video's of a couple of the Christmas plays.

To be fair, it might do the trick.

I did once have my drink spiked whilst out and about, it was an unpleasant experience.

Whilst living in Australia, out in a bar in Torquay (by Bells Beach), I got my drink mixed up with someone else who was also on Wild Turkey and Coke. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but apparently the locals for kicks would put a little GHB in their drinks. A bizarre evening ensued. I vaguely remember crawling back to the house at which I was staying on my hands and knees, thinking I was a big cat of some description.

I try not to take anything. I had stress and anxiety a few years back, first doctor appointment I came out with anti depressants. At this point I realised the system was broken. I needed support and advice and a week or two off work.... Not plaster pills

I binned the tablets and slogged through 4 weeks of tough times and turned a corner.

I used to take antidepressants a number of years ago. That's about as much medication as I was previously taking, but found out via blood work that my testosterone took a sharp decline from those and that in itself was making me feel miserable. Lots of people don't realise that they do that. :(
