Do you think players/managers browse fan forums?

I was thinking about this yesterday, could you imagine Mourinho, Ferguson, Wenger or any other manager or even player browsing fan forums and their official club forums to see public response to a decision/transfer/result?

Garry Neville is supposed to frequent the Red Issue boards by his own admission

Is that common knowledge to most users there? Does it or has it affected what you've posted if you are a member there? :) I would occasionally read some things there but luckily I've got quite a good source anyway. ;)

tbh I very rarely post on there anymore due to the fact its poorly moderated, a helluva a lot of spam and the database often crashes. I tend to lurk there occasionaly.

I think its quite common knowledge he posts on there. Its only really the mods and admins who knows who he is. Never really effected what i've posted knowing that he could be on the boards

Interesting all the same though. Although if I had to guess which Utd player browsed those forums I would have picked G.Neville head and shoulders above the rest.

I only really post about football here, because like you said most fan forums are spam infested and unmoderated. I would occasionally read RedNews just for the news stories on the homepage.

Might be the odd player who does, but I doubt many top flight managers do. I suppose they might get their cronies to guage supporter opinion on a few issues but nothing much beyond that.

I hope so and just in case you are.

Lampard you embarrassed me, expect a good kicking when i see you.

:p

I know my mate used to work for teletext as a correspondent and some of the stories on there were taken from various fan sites for all sorts of clubs. Albeit this was 3 or 4 years ago

I think it's safe to say that plenty of rumours in the papers are still from fan sites. Most of them being total rubbish too :)

Absolutley. Some of the better ones include Tevez, Mascherano, Diarra, Carrick, Pele, Maradonna, & Uncle Tom Cobleigh all seen coming out of Old Trafford and having signed for us :D

On topic though, if managers or clubs want to gauge opinion on the team as it stands then fan boards are a good place to look

i would seriously doubt it... i dont think they have the time...

Players or managers? I would think players have plenty of free time away from training and match preparation sitting in their mansions watching the £s fly into their bank account every week. ;)
