Do you think shooting/killing/war gaming everyday can effect mental state/health

I'm sure they go a long way to desensitizing people, but then again so does the daily war reporting that has become so prevalent in the media over the last decade.

It depends on your mental strength. If you're mentally weak, it probably will affect you in someway. However, if you're like the other 99% of the population, I doubt playing shooting games will have any effect on you.

Seriously... it's more like 50%

I cant even play games like manhunt or condemend or silent hill these have heavy viseral effect and creep me the hell out so to say games have no effect on people is not 100% true. But this is just scary. It doesnt mean i gonna be a serial killer after playing them lol.

But know what I keep getting in my head and dreaming the lock on sound of guided missles lmao...I keep hearing the beeping lock on missles sounds and getting ready to press my flares

In short no..

REAL SOLDIER, REAL LIFE

If you can tell the difference... something is very wrong;)

merry christmas

Games are games and always will be, when I played hungry hippos as a kid it didn't make me want to go and feed a hippo.

As said, bf3 is nothing like the real thing.

For a start i was a marksman, yet shove me onto bf3 and i get spanked.

Go figure

im not saying its realistic. Im saying the fact bf or cod or aliens or l4d spending hours per day shooting people...has no effect?

TBH I would imagine that just playing any sort of game for 5 hours a day 7 days a week is likely to have some sort of effect on you, nevermind just war games.

Without getting in to it too deeply the answer is that no, it has no effect.

The reason we don't train soldiers to deal with intensely traumatic combat with media is because it doesn't work, because it has no effect.

Desensitisation and what you're talking about are two different things.

well when i watch 5hrs porn per day real girls become less attractive as they are not as hot as the ones on internet plus they have clothes on

You obviously haven't been in a real contact then. ;)
I get the same thing hux, 8 years in recce as a sniper but on bf3 i can't hit a thing  even with the L96 which, by all accounts, i used to be pretty handy with :P

what u on about u get much more action in video games than real life obvioously. U cant die in real life and respawn.

Mate I have blown up about 500 tanks in a month and been shot down in my heli 100+ times. I have been blown up by 20+ grenades. and stabbed in the back 10-20 times. I have been shot in the head by snipers at least 20 times. And I have been killed by 20 + mortar strikes...this is just a highlight of my last month or so

There's quite a difference between that and real life though. The 1 bullet of real action would completely change you, where as you're indifferent to games and getting killed.

I would call real life a lot more action.

Have you sought any sort of professional help for your injury's? From where I'm sitting it's seems as if you've ignored them and they've had some sort of adverse effect on your mental well-being.
