Do you think the old Alienware case looks outdated?

So I bought a used old Alienware case and I thought it looks outdated. The case was originally used by Alienware back in 2002. It's basically 13 year old design.

here is the photo of my Alienware case

Haha, classic design - I really liked it back in the day!

I don't think it's dated per se, but it might be lacking modern features on the inside (cable routing, support for larger fans, USB 3.0 ports etc.).

Interested to see what you do with it :)

Doesnt look dated to me, im still using a chieftec full tower from about 2002 :) , this case didnt look that modern even when i bought it.

Personally in that photo not really but when you see summit like a corsair 750d next to it then maybe due to the clean looks the obsidian series have.

But +1 for the classic design

The 750D and other cases don't really bring anything new to the looks department though. Lian-Li and Cooler Master cases mastered that look way back in the early 2000s. Take this beaut for example...

Shame that cases nowadays tend to be pretty minging in general :(

That's nice^^^^^

I was just using corsair as an example, I feel that in a design/looks way rounded looking cases age more maybe? that beauty above proves it imo!

Ah yeah ok, I agree with you on that. Cleaner, simpler stuff will always age nicely... like a well-fitted suit :)

I long for CM to make cases of yesteryear with decent PSU mounting options, 120-140mm fan mounts and updated ports.

Right??!

All they need to do is remake the 201 with modern features and they would sell like hot cakes!

Great video (same case as my first ever CM :D)

That's the one I've still got, ATC-201 with the chocolate brown/beige coloured panels.

Just about coped with an i3 2130 build, but was getting toasty by the time I stuck a 670 in there and upgraded the CPU.

Complete with Akasa soundproofing foam inlay and Asus/Abit board schematic stickers from days of Barton 2500XP builds. :D

I can only assume that they would be hideously expensive to make in this day in age, or more likely that they were so solidly built that nobody would ever need to uprade their cases.

I've always loved these cases. As was said before it's a classic design but missing modern features.

I'm very disappointed in this company now. I've never owned any Alienware product but I used to admire Alienware back in 2003/05... as they were right on it with this cable management/ALX setup.

Seen their latest line? Ugly cases, ugly internals. Blue PCB's not very good at cable management and no cable braiding or very little all clumped together. As well as the generic looking PSU shells. Lots of fruity cables exposed with the internal chassis silver. Can practically smell the steel.

Bak in the day Alienware wasn't far behind this. www.million-dollar-pc.com

I had one in blue, sold it for a decent price on Ebay when people we're after them. At the time the build quality was rather impressive compared to other cases on the market.
