Do you think you are intelligent?

Average I'd say, I've learnt over the years though that intelligence has very little do with how much you can earn outside of some niche areas, communicating effectively and being good with people is 85% of it. There's a vast majority who've talked themselves to where they are or formed relationships that get them into those positions, otherwise businesses would be run by high functioning autists with ridiculous intelligence levels and attention to detail.

Guess the poster ^

He aimed it at me if memory serves, and then Tefal used it has his signature for a while.

e: I was just going to post that Asim will be along shortly, a good friend of mine ;)

He is smarter than everyone, he'll tell you soon.

He's priceless isn't he?

I'd love to have him in a cage in the corner of my room and feed him cheese puffs and weed.

Depends really. In some ways yes, in others, no. I like to think i have above average intelligence, but im no genius thats for sure... :p

I seem to remember my IQ being in the 140's somewhere if that means anything.

It means you don't know how to use decimal places. It's 0.14.

:p

I think its 143~ or something like that... I remember it was third highest in my class with a girl called Hupchee getting 147~ and my friend Anna getting 144~. Hupchee also got straight A*'s at GCSE and A-Level.

I do have some mental "issues" which were diagnosed when I was young, one of which although very mild in my case, often means you score quite highly in IQ type tests, but struggle in other areas. Such as social interaction, and ability to buy Toyota Celicas. :D

As a 10-year-old I was tested and was found to be in the top 1%. I don't know the exact figure but it was around the 140 range. I was sent to special classes once per week where 9 other children in the same range were taught advanced topics such as calculus, physics, programming, music, art etc.
However, as someone who has ASD I find many things hard that most people find easy. Things such as reading emotion, empathy, small-talk etc. Because of this I feel that the two things cancel out, making me an average capability human :)

Classic Hupchee.

I just found her on LinkedIn. Her profile is private but it does say that she is now a graduate from London School of Economics and Political Science.

Exactly the same boat as me! :) Hello there fellow oddball. :p

IQ is meaningless anyway... One of my mates scored around 95 I think he said, and I'd swap my brain for his any day... He's sociable, happy, and very good at car mechanics and other things I wish I were good at... Being able to solve daft logic puzzles and things isn't helpful very often!

Indeed. IQ only really tests pattern recognition, maths, perception, spacial awareness, and logical thought. While extremely useful, they are not enough on their own to make a successful individual.

I would trade some of my ability in those areas for a boost to my social skills in a heartbeat.

Well this just proves matters doesn't it :D. lol. That particular line was not aimed at you, and certainly not everyone! And your memory doesn't serve I'm afraid.

Also, I'm not "smarter than everyone", why do you feel that way? It's nonsense and assuming one is smarter than everyone is a complete and absolute barrier to learning as well as an ignorant's stance. And that is what I am completely against lol.

What I personally do is, I identify smarter more rational people and learn from them. I also identify emotionally charged, predisposed and irrational people and try not to take anything they say too seriously.

There are only a few select people who I have confirmed as generally irrational, that number is probably less than four. If you feel you are one of them then that doesn't mean everyone else is also. I don't even think I'm smarter than you lol because even you have said smart things from time to time. There are absolutely people who are smarter than me everywhere and on these forums, so again you are just wrong with your perception.

Although I can understand why you may perceive things as such, it really isn't "everyone", it's limited only to specific arguments where people try to argue against a point I've made without a reasonable, logical, and sequitur argument. It really isn't my fault that your attempts to retort me sometimes increase the perceived gap between our relative intelligence, therefore inflating my sense of intelligence relative to yours, (not everyone lol).

But anyway I love yours and Dis86's bromance on these forums. It's brilliant to see. I also love how you are usually never able to actually discuss anything with me and always retort to illogical and semantics based nonsense and strawmans pretty much all the time. A lot of your posts seem to be emotional, as opposed to rational, perhaps due to some underlying predispositions.
